No Type Remix (example)

Here's the hook from No Type by Rae Sremmurd.
Here's what the clip looks like in Audacity, after I cut away the rest of the song:

Here are the steps I took to remix the hook:

  1. I REVERSED the hook.
  2. I cut/pasted the section from around 9.5secs to 11.5secs into a new track.  This is the base of the remix, it has a nice sound!
  3. I REPEATED the clip from step 2 7 times (so it plays 8x total in a row).  REPEAT is the same thing as LOOP in Audacity.
  4. I then cut/pasted "I don't got no type" from the original hook (it's not in reverse) into a new track.
  5. I CHANGED PITCH on the lyrics, making it sound much higher.  I changed it UP by 12 semitones.  Here's what that looks like:

    6.   I COPY/PASTED that section ("I don't got no type" super high pitch) 4 times over the             base (the reverse beat from step 2).  I lined everything up using the ARROW cursor.

    7.   I moved the PAN over to the right headphone for the high pitch lyrics.

And finally, here's what it sounds like!

Using AUDACITY or VIRTUAL DJ, you will create a 1-minute clip that is tastefully edited/remixed.  You must:
  • Use a downloaded mp3- Use this Youtube to MP3 Converter to help you!
  • Drag the MP3 into Audacity (or VDJ).
  • Trim the MP3 down to 1 minute MAX (shorter is OK!).
  • Add at least 3 effects in a "tasteful" manner.

 What is TASTEFUL, you ask?
